Samantha Pyser, RD, CDN, CDE is a Registered Dietitian, Certified Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Educator living in Queens, New York. She is currently working full-time as the outpatient dietitian in the adult medicine practice at a hospital in the South Bronx.She is also a department manager, and the program coordinator for their Diabetes Self-Management Education program which is accredited through the AADE. Working with this neighborhood’s complex population has been incredibly challenging, as it has one of the highest incidences in the country of overweight/obesity and diabetes along with low socio-economic status and literacy. Most of the patients counseled by Samantha are very receptive to the knowledge they receive, have great clinical and personal outcomes, and it makes the job very rewarding.
Prior to being involved in the outpatient counseling environment, Samantha was an inpatient dietitian at a hospital in Flushing, Queens, working throughout every unit from pediatrics to geriatrics, medical/surgical floors and the ICU’s.
A fitness enthusiast, she is also a Certified Spinning Instructor at a gym in Queens, and also enjoys yoga, running and kickboxing.
With a passion for helping clients and their families manage their health and fitness goals, she has enjoyed and excelled at teaching in group settings and one-on-one, as well as creating handouts and newsletters promoting overall health and great quality of life.
