Hi, I’m Liz! Registered Dietitian and Certified Health Nut in San Diego, CA. I’ve had a passion for food, fitness and fun my entire life and am now have been able to have found a career I can do all three at the same time…enter, self-employment! I currently own my own business and am venturing into all sorts of new avenues in the nutrition field which I truly love.
My past work has led me to experience many different parts of the nutrition field, including senior nutrition, hospital and school foodservice, eating disorders and weight management, as well as marketing and product development over the past ten years. My current position has me doing what I love most, educating the public (that’s you!) about the importance of nutrition and health in our daily lives. My philosophy is all foods can fit, you just have to figure out how they work for you. I enjoy helping people find their healthstyle as I like to call it. I share my passion for cooking and life on my blog, Simple Swaps, and in my work as a professor at the local San Diego colleges.
I received my Masters in Nutrition as part of dual program while completing my Dietetic Internship at Northern Illinois University outside Chicago, Illinois. I also completed a Graduate Program in Eating Disorders & Obesity while there as well. I recently finished my training to become a CLT (certified lifestyle eating and performance therapist) to assist those with food allergies and intolerances. I’m an active member in the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics and National Association of College and University Foodservice (NACUFS) Organization.
When away from work, I love to cook and explore the beauty of nature- hiking, biking, rollerblading, I’m in! I look forward to getting to know you better and helping your find the healthstyle that works for you!
